Lattice for brand designers
Lattice is a canvas where brand designers build direction boards from references, palettes, type samples, and notes, then present them to a client without rebuilding anything in a deck. Drop material in as you find it, let Lattice group it into frames, and share one read-only link the client can open on any device.
Open a board- The direction board lives in a Figma file the client cannot read without a walkthrough.
- Every presentation means exporting frames into a deck the night before.
- References, links, and notes end up in four places and none of them look considered.
Gather everything on one board
Brand direction starts messy: screenshots, a competitor's packaging, a type specimen, a paragraph from the brief, a voice memo from the kickoff call. Lattice takes all of it as first-class cards. Drop images, paste links and they unfurl with a preview, record a voice note and it is transcribed, drop a PDF and it opens in place. The board is infinite and free-form, so you can spread three directions side by side instead of stacking them in pages. Nothing has to be sized or aligned yet. The point at this stage is to get the material out of your tabs and onto a surface where you can see all of it at once.
Let the board organize itself, then edit
When the board is full, ask Lattice to organize it. It tags cards, groups related ones into frames, and draws connections between references that belong together, so a pile of forty images becomes palette, texture, type, and tone. Frames have headings you can rename, and dragging a card into a frame assigns it. Draw on the canvas to circle the three references you actually mean. Tag cards and filter to look at one direction at a time. The result reads like a direction, not a folder, and you have not spent an evening laying out a grid.
Present it, or send the link
Presentation mode strips the chrome and walks the client through the board frame by frame, full-screen, on a call or in the room. After the meeting, turn on link sharing and send the read-only board. The client opens it in a browser on a phone or laptop with no account and no app, and can forward it to a partner who has opinions. When the feedback comes back, adjust the frame in question and reshare the same link. If someone wants a leave-behind, export the board to PDF or SVG.
Questions
- Can a client view a board without an account?
- Yes. Turn on link sharing and the board gets a read-only link. Anyone with the link can open it in a browser without signing up.
- Can I present a brand direction board full-screen?
- Yes. Presentation mode hides the interface and moves through the board one frame at a time.
- Can I export the board?
- Yes. Boards export to PDF, PNG, JPG, and SVG.
- Does Lattice replace Figma for brand work?
- No. Lattice is for the direction and presentation stage. Design the identity in your design tool; use Lattice to gather references and show the thinking.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Lattice is free during public beta with no card required. A Studio tier is announced and waitlisted.
