Lattice vs FigJam
FigJam is the whiteboard inside Figma, and for many designers it is where a client moodboard already lives. Viewing is free and unlimited, and a full Professional seat is $16 per month. Lattice is a canvas built for the moodboard itself: links unfurl into cards, video and PDFs sit on the board as cards, AI groups and tags the collection, and presentation runs through the canvas. It is free during public beta.
The short version
If you already work in Figma, FigJam is hard to argue against. It has version history, and a client can view and comment free without a seat. Its export covers PDF, PNG, and SVG, and it has native mobile apps. Where it falls short is exactly the moodboard part. A pasted link is a link, not a card with an image and a title. Video, audio, and PDFs need workarounds to sit on the board. There is no clipper, no tags across boards, and nothing that organizes a pile of references for you. Presentation means turning frames into slides. Lattice handles the messy collecting stage: clip from the browser, drop anything, let it group and tag, then present frame by frame through the canvas and send a read-only link. It does not have version history or native apps, and it will not replace Figma for design work.

Choose Lattice if
- Your references are mostly links, video, and PDFs, not vectors.
- You want a pile of references grouped and tagged for you.
- You clip from the web as you browse and want it to land on the board.
- You present the board itself rather than turning frames into slides.
Choose FigJam if
- Your client already reviews everything in Figma.
- You need version history.
- The moodboard feeds directly into a Figma design file.

- Does FigJam unfurl links into cards?
- No. A pasted link stays a link. In Lattice a link becomes a card with its image and title.
- Can a client view a Lattice board without an account?
- Yes. A read-only share link opens in any browser with no sign-up.
- Does Lattice have version history?
- Not today. Figma does. If you need to return to an earlier state of a board, FigJam is the safer choice.
- Can I move a FigJam board to Lattice?
- There is no importer. Export images from FigJam and drop them onto a Lattice board; links can be pasted and unfurl automatically.
